XPENG L03 expansion, G9L trials, and global growth

Overview

XPENG has expanded its L03 electric SUV coupe lineup into the French market. Positioned as a competitor to the Tesla Model Y, the L03 features a 400-volt architecture and LFP battery chemistry. While initial pricing was noted around €34,990, recent details indicate a starting price of approximately €36,900 for the C-segment model, with an Ultra Performance version available for €49,900. The L03 has reportedly surpassed 12,000 orders in Europe within three months of its launch.

In Hong Kong, the L03 has officially launched with four variants, including a High Performance All-Wheel Drive ULTRA model equipped with three self-developed Turing AI chips providing 2,250 TOPS of computing power. The L03 has also entered the Australian and New Zealand markets, offering both battery-electric and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options. The EREV model utilizes a 1.5-liter petrol engine as an onboard generator to extend range beyond 1,000 kilometers.

Regarding the G9L luxury SUV, XPENG has completed its first production trial at the Magna facility in Graz, Austria. The G9L, a flagship three-row SUV featuring 800-volt architecture and four-wheel steering, was officially launched in the European market at the 2026 Paris Motor Show as part of the company’s “In Europe, For Europe, With Europe” strategy. The G9L is expected to reach markets like Spain by the second quarter of 2027.

To support long-term growth, XPENG is in discussions with Magna International to expand its manufacturing presence in Austria. The company has set an ambitious target to reach 1 million annual global sales by 2030. Recent data shows external deliveries exceeded 20,000 units in the second quarter of 2026, accounting for 25% of first-half revenue. Additionally, the Mona L05 mid-size SUV entered its pre-sale phase in China in October 2026.
