XPENG secures 770 million euros for robotics expansion

XPENG has secured more than 770 million euros to accelerate its robotics business, marking what the company describes as the largest single private funding round in the Chinese Physical AI industry to date.

The funding round, which resulted in a post-investment valuation exceeding 5.4 billion euros, was led by IDG Capital. It included participation from Gaorong Ventures and strategic investment from Tencent and Alibaba.

The capital is intended to support the development of XPENG’s robotics ecosystem, specifically focusing on IRON, an advanced humanoid robot. IRON is designed as a general-purpose platform capable of autonomous learning in real-world contexts through an integrated hardware and software platform.
