XREAL AURA AR glasses surpass 10,000 global pre-orders

XREAL has announced that global pre-orders for its next-generation spatial computing device, the XREAL AURA, have exceeded 10,000 units. The device is the first augmented reality (AR) glasses to run on Google’s Android XR operating system.

Developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm Technologies, the XREAL AURA utilizes a split-compute architecture. This design separates the glasses from a pocketable computing pack to maintain a lightweight on-head weight of less than 95 grams. The hardware features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite chipset for XR and AI workloads, alongside XREAL’s proprietary X1S Spatial Coprocessor.

The device supports six degrees of freedom (6DOF) tracking, hand tracking, and multimodal AI experiences. While a final retail price has not been set, XREAL stated the cost will not exceed $1,500, excluding taxes. The product is slated for a launch in Fall 2026, with more details regarding pricing and availability expected in the coming weeks.
