XREAL Aura AR glasses pre-order launch

XREAL has announced that global pre-orders for its next-generation spatial computing device, the XREAL Aura, have exceeded 10,000 units. Developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm Technologies, the device is the first augmented reality glasses to run on Google’s Android XR operating system.

The hardware utilizes a split-compute architecture to maintain a lightweight on-head weight of approximately 91 to 95 grams, separating the glasses from a dedicated computing pack. Technical specifications include Sony micro OLED displays with 1920x1200 resolution per eye, a 70-degree field of view, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an electrochromic dimmer for adjustable transparency. The device features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite chipset, XREAL’s proprietary X1S Spatial Coprocessor, and integrates Gemini AI.

Targeted at consumer and enterprise sectors—such as medical, training, and industrial safety—the Aura supports six degrees of freedom (6DOF) tracking, hand tracking, and real-world passthrough. While a final retail price has not been set, XREAL stated the cost will not exceed $1,500, excluding taxes. Although early reservation programs have reached capacity, the company continues to offer reservation passes for priority purchasing rights upon its scheduled Fall 2026 launch.
