XRP Ledger Batch V1.1 upgrade attracts interest from asset managers

Ripple reports that asset managers and commercial projects are preparing for the upcoming Batch V1.1 upgrade on the XRP Ledger. The feature, which is on track for potential activation around September 29, allows for the grouping of up to eight transactions into a single atomic operation. This capability enables linked asset and payment transfers to settle simultaneously, reducing the risk of partial transaction failures.

To activate, the amendment requires at least 80% support from validators for 14 consecutive days. Current data shows 30 of 35 tracked trusted validators supporting the update, maintaining the necessary threshold. The Batch V1.1 specification follows a previous version that was replaced after researchers identified a signature validation flaw earlier this year. The current version, part of XRPL version 3.3.0, has undergone expanded security reviews to address previous issues and ensure reliability for institutional users managing complex payment flows.
