Ripple expands footprint via Brazil securities deal and ACI Worldwide integration

Ripple has expanded its institutional footprint through two major developments involving global payment infrastructure and regulated securities markets.

In Brazil, the central securities depository CSD BR, which manages over BRL 22 trillion in assets, has partnered with Ripple to mirror securities ownership on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). The initial phase involves tokenizing investment fund shares from BTG Pactual using the XRPL’s Multi-Purpose Token standard. CSD BR will remain the official source of record, while the blockchain serves as a secondary layer for real-time auditing and transparency. Future phases may extend to real estate and agribusiness receivables.

Separately, ACI Worldwide, a major SWIFT partner that processes approximately 9% of global SWIFT traffic, has integrated the XRP Ledger as a supported distributed ledger technology (DLT) settlement rail within SWIFT’s new multi-chain ledger framework. This integration leverages Ripple’s native compatibility with the ISO 20022 messaging standard, allowing banks to utilize XRP for On-Demand Liquidity during transactions.
