XRP Ledger targets October 9 for transaction bundling upgrade
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is targeting October 9 for the activation of a Batch upgrade, which would allow users to bundle up to eight transactions into a single submission. This feature, based on the XLS-56 standard, aims to coordinate payments and asset transfers more efficiently. One key execution mode is ‘ALLORNOTHING’, which ensures that either all transactions in a batch succeed or none are reflected, reducing the risk of incomplete trades.
Activation of the BatchV1_1 amendment depends on maintaining validator support above 80% for 14 consecutive days. As of October 3, data indicated that 30 out of 35 trusted validators (approximately 85.7%) supported the upgrade.
A separate security amendment, fixBatchV1_2, is also approaching activation to bolster the security of batch transactions. Server operators are advised to update to xrpld version 3.4.1 to ensure network synchronization and avoid connectivity issues once the security fix is live. While the Batch feature allows for grouped operations, it does not eliminate transaction fees, which will still be determined by the specific composition of the transactions.
