Xsports Secures Ligue 1 Broadcast Rights for Brazilian Open TV 2026-27
Xsports, Brazil's free‑to‑air sports channel, announced a one‑year agreement to air French Ligue 1 matches on open TV beginning 21 August 2026. The contract provides three games per round for the 2026/27 season, expanding the channel’s portfolio of international football.
The acquisition is justified by the league’s appeal to Brazilian viewers, notably the presence of Brazilian players such as Marquinhos and Lucas Beraldo at Paris Saint‑Germain. "French football is known for its intensity, young talent and a historic link with Brazilian football," said Thiago Garcia, Xsports’ vice‑president of marketing. The move follows Xsports’ recent deals for other competitions, including the Russian Premier League, and aims to democratize access to a top‑five European league.
