Yacyretá invests 8,000 million Guaraníes in Paraguayan small producers

The Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY) has signed cooperation agreements to invest 8,000 million Guaraníes to support small-scale agricultural producers in the departments of Caazapá and Ñeembucú. The funding is split equally, with 4,000 million Guaraníes allocated to each department.

In Caazapá, the resources aim to benefit approximately 5,000 producers through the provision of seeds (maize, beans, and others), soil acidity correctors, fertilizers, and horticultural kits, as well as the construction of a greenhouse. In Ñeembucú, the investment will cover soil preparation for 2,728 hectares, the provision of tools and seeds, the construction of horticultural and citrus nurseries, apiculture, and the installation of model ponds for fish farming.

The program, part of the PRO/PARAGUAY agricultural development agreement, is executed by EBY with technical support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG). The production is intended for local markets and the government’s “Hambre Cero” program.
