Yael Trepy cleared to return to football after drowning incident
Cagliari striker Yael Trepy has received medical clearance to resume his professional football career following a life-threatening drowning incident in Porto Cervo. After undergoing extensive cardiological and pulmonary examinations at the Centro Cardiologico Monzino in Milan, doctors confirmed his total recovery, stating there are no lasting after-effects from the accident.
The incident occurred in August when the 20-year-old player experienced severe respiratory distress after slipping into the deep end of a pool. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and placed in a medically induced coma to protect brain function and manage lung complications caused by water aspiration.
Trepy is expected to return to training gradually. While the club has confirmed his fitness for competitive play, a specific date for his return to the pitch has not yet been determined.
