Yael Trepy discharged from hospital after drowning accident
Yael Trepy, a 20-year-old French forward for Cagliari, has been discharged from the University Hospital of Sassari in good clinical condition. His discharge follows a serious drowning incident that occurred on August 16 in a swimming pool in Porto Cervo, Sardinia.
Trepy was initially hospitalized in intensive care and placed in a medically induced coma due to the severity of the accident. After showing progressive improvement in his respiratory functions, he was moved to the clinical and interventive pulmonology department. Medical staff reported that he showed no evident neurological deficits upon waking.
The player is now set to begin a specialized rehabilitation program in Arco, in the province of Trento, to focus on full physical recovery and potential return to professional football. Trepy expressed his optimism on social media, stating, “It's time for a comeback.”
