Yahukimo police apprehend suspects in Bripka Fredy Lukas Awes murder

Security forces have apprehended suspects involved in the July 2026 murder of Bripka Fredy Lukas Awes in the Dekai District of Yahukimo Regency, Papua Pegunungan. A joint operation by the Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force and the Yahukimo Police targeted a criminal network suspected of being members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) under the leadership of Nabianus.

During the operation, two suspects, identified by the initials RM and DM, were taken into custody. Two other suspects, AU and MP, were shot and killed by authorities after they allegedly resisted arrest and attempted to flee. Three additional suspects remain at large and are currently on the wanted list.

Investigators utilized intelligence analysis and digital mapping technology to track the suspects. Authorities seized various pieces of evidence during the raids, including firearms, communication equipment, and records linking the suspects to criminal activities.
