Yair Netanyahu targeted in alleged Iranian assassination plot in Miami

assassination plot Yair Netanyahu Iranian intelligence Miami surveillance Shin Bet

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly accused Iran of attempting to assassinate one of his sons. While the Prime Minister did not initially name the target, subsequent reports from US media and law enforcement sources identify the target as his eldest son, 35-year-old Yair Netanyahu.

According to reports, Israeli intelligence uncovered the assassination plot in December 2025. Iranian operatives were allegedly on the ground in the Miami, Florida area, conducting surveillance on Yair Netanyahu’s residence in Hallandale Beach and monitoring his daily movements.

Yair Netanyahu was reportedly ordered to evacuate the United States immediately following the discovery of the threat. He returned to Israel so abruptly that he left personal belongings behind.

Yair Netanyahu has filed a formal complaint alleging that media disclosures regarding his residence and security details provided a roadmap for Iranian agents. He claims that Shin Bet security personnel successfully confronted a terrorist command during the attempted incident, preventing a major catastrophe.
