Japan food retailers launch seasonal autumn menus and promotions

Various Japanese food retailers and restaurants are launching seasonal autumn promotions and menu updates.

Katsuya is running a Silver Week campaign through September 23, offering free large servings of rice for bowls, sets, and bento boxes. Yoshinoya has also reintroduced its thick-cut pork kakuni set, available daily from 3:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Additionally, Hokkaho-hotte is updating its signature nori bento with a new tuna mayo topping.

Chestnut-themed products are prominent across several brands. Hanshin Umeda Main Store is hosting a Mont Blanc exhibition featuring nine specialty shops. Kasama Maron Do, a specialist using chestnuts from Ibaraki, is holding a pop-up event at Takamatsu Mitsukoshi. Pasco is also releasing an apple butter tart in October. Other seasonal offerings include Kasama chestnut-flavored lunch packs at Welcia and autumn-themed rice seasoning products from MUJI, featuring ingredients like chestnut, matsutake mushroom, and saury.

In Ginza, Mitsukoshi is offering a selection of premium autumn bento boxes from various specialty vendors, including roasted beef, tempura, and seafood chirashi sushi, available from late September through mid-October.
