Yann Arthus-Bertrand launches portrait project in Crans-Montana
French photographer and environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand has launched a large-scale portrait project in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. Using a temporary studio at the local fire station, the photographer is capturing images of residents, including various professions, families, and local associations.
This initiative, described as a “family album” style project, marks Arthus-Bertrand’s first major work outside of France. The project aims to bring people together following the “Constellation” fire that affected the region. The resulting photographs are intended for a future book and an exhibition titled “Valais, un album de famille,” which is expected to take place during the winter.
