Yann Bisseck poised for first start with Germany

Yann Bisseck, the former AGF defender currently playing for Inter Milan, is poised to earn his first starting appearance for the German national team. Following the exclusion of Nico Schlotterbeck from the squad, reports indicate that Bisseck is a favorite to start alongside Jonathan Tah in the upcoming match against Greece.

Bisseck, who made his international debut against Italy in March 2025, has been waiting for a starting role under manager Jürgen Klopp. Bisseck previously shared that Klopp personally contacted him via a phone call to deliver the news of his call-up, an interaction that left the player highly motivated.

Bisseck’s career trajectory includes a significant transfer from the Danish club AGF to Inter Milan. AGF originally acquired him on loan from Köln before purchasing him permanently in 2022 for 1.72 million euros. He was later sold to Inter for 7.2 million euros, marking a major financial success for the Danish side.
