Poland celebrates military anniversaries and receives international tourism awards

Poland is observing several significant historical and cultural milestones. On August 15, the nation celebrates Polish Armed Forces Day, marking the 106th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. In Warsaw, a major military parade is scheduled to feature over 300 land force units and 60 aircraft. Local celebrations across the country, including in Radzymin and Zgorzelec, involve patriotic ceremonies, religious services, and sporting events like the 'Miracle on the Vistula' half marathon.

Additionally, commemorations are being held for the anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, which began on August 1, 1944. Local authorities in various regions, such as Żychlin and Białogard, have organized tributes to honor the insurgents and victims of the conflict.

In the tourism sector, Poland and Kraków have received international recognition. During a gala in Chicago, Kraków was named the best leisure destination in Europe by Global Traveler, while Poland was honored as the 'Destination Family Innovator of the Year' at the Wherever Awards 2026.
