Yellow Card secures $40 million to expand stablecoin infrastructure
Yellow Card, a fintech company founded in Nigeria, has secured $40 million in a strategic funding round to expand its stablecoin infrastructure and cross-border payment capabilities. This latest investment brings the company’s total financing to more than $120 million.
The funding round included participation from SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, and Blockchain Capital. The capital is earmarked to scale the company’s Global USD Accounts, which allow businesses to hold, swap, and manage US dollars and stablecoins while facilitating local currency collections and disbursements in over 50 countries.
Yellow Card aims to provide an alternative to traditional correspondent banking systems, offering APIs that connect banks, fintechs, and multinational enterprises to global markets. The company plans to use the investment to deepen its presence in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region, building on its existing footprint in Africa and emerging markets.
