Yellow Card stablecoin infrastructure funding
Overview
Yellow Card, a Nigerian-founded fintech company, secured $40 million in a strategic funding round to expand its stablecoin infrastructure and cross-border payment capabilities. This investment brings the company’s total financing to over $120 million.
The funding round included participation from SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, and Blockchain Capital. The capital is intended to scale the company’s Global USD Accounts, which facilitate the management of US dollars and stablecoins while allowing for local currency collections and disbursements in more than 50 countries.
Yellow Card aims to provide an alternative to traditional correspondent banking systems through APIs that connect banks, fintechs, and multinational enterprises to global markets. The company plans to use the investment to expand its presence in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region, building upon its existing operations in Africa and other emerging markets.
