Yemen authorities condemn Saudi military strikes on civilians and facilities

Yemeni authorities have condemned recent military actions by Saudi forces, alleging violations of international humanitarian law and sovereignty. The National Human Rights Authority reported heavy artillery shelling against civilian homes and farms in the Shada border district, resulting in casualties and property destruction. The authority characterized these actions as a policy of collective punishment and forced displacement, noting that the attacks have transitioned from large-scale bombardment to systematic sniper fire and direct targeting of civilians.

Simultaneously, Yemen’s Supreme Political Council condemned an attack on a central correctional facility in Al-Hazm, Al-Jawf province, which reportedly killed and wounded several inmates. The council held the Saudi regime responsible for the escalation and warned that continued aggression could push the situation into a new phase. Yemeni officials have called on the United Nations and the Security Council to explicitly condemn the attacks and end their silence regarding the ongoing violence.
