Yemen braces for severe thunderstorms, heavy rain and extreme heat
The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning in Yemen issued a weather bulletin warning of widespread thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail and strong winds across the country's highlands, coastal areas and islands. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 44 °C in desert and plateau regions, while coastal zones will see hot, humid conditions with scattered rain.
Authorities cautioned residents to avoid flash‑flooded valleys, stay away from unstable slopes, and limit exposure to intense sun. Fishermen and mariners were warned of rough seas, especially around the Socotra archipelago and the Gulf of Aden.
