Yemen conflict escalates amid diplomatic mediation efforts

Military tensions are rising in Yemen as clashes intensify in the Taiz and Lahj governorates. Government forces have recently launched the ‘Fajr al-Yemen’ operation, reporting the neutralization of hundreds of Houthi fighters during recent engagements. Concurrently, there are concerns regarding potential Houthi ballistic missile strikes targeting Aden and its international airport.

In response to the regional instability, diplomatic efforts are underway. The ninth Istanbul Mediation Conference is hosting high-level sessions involving representatives from European, Arab, and Islamic nations. The conference is expected to issue recommendations or a final statement addressing critical regional issues, including the situation in Yemen, the Palestinian file, and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.
