Yemen experiences renewed attacks and Saudi military reinforcements in Aden
Yemen has experienced a surge in military activity, marked by aerial and naval attacks across the north, south, and west. In Aden, the temporary capital, powerful explosions were reported at Al-Maashiq Palace, the residence of the Presidential Council. These incidents coincided with intensive drone flights and the activation of anti-aircraft defenses. Additionally, drone attacks targeted the Third Division Emergency camp near the eastern border, and explosive-laden boats reportedly targeted a naval base in Al-Mokha.
In response to the escalating tensions, Saudi Arabia has deployed fresh military reinforcements to Aden. These units, belonging to the Saudi-backed ‘Dera Al-Watan’ forces, arrived via Hadhramaut, Shabwah, and Abyan. The deployment aims to stabilize the region following internal command disputes and rising local protests against Saudi control. Some reports indicate that these forces may also be redeploying toward Lahj province or the western coast to reinforce front lines bordering Sana’a government forces following recent strikes on Saudi and mercenary camps.
