Yemen faces extreme heat and scattered showers with rough seas

The Yemen Meteorological Department forecast extreme temperatures on Wednesday, with coastal cities such as Aden, Mukalla and Al Hudaydah expected to reach 38‑40 °C and desert and high‑land areas like Ma'rib and Sa'dah climbing to 41‑44 °C. Scattered rain is predicted for parts of the Socotra archipelago, the eastern coastline and mountainous regions extending from Saada to Lahj, occasionally accompanied by thunder. Winds will be light to moderate along the south‑west coasts but become strong on Socotra and sections of the eastern shore. Maritime forecasts warn of light to moderate waves on the western coasts, moderate to rough seas around Socotra, Mahra and the Arabian Sea, with the Red Sea remaining light and the Gulf of Aden moderate. Authorities advise the public to avoid direct sun exposure, stay hydrated, and for drivers to steer clear of flood‑prone channels. Fishermen, ship crews and coastal residents are urged to heed safety warnings due to possible sea disturbance and high waves.
