Yemen Foreign Minister calls for intensified diplomacy and international support

Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba, has called for intensified diplomatic efforts to mobilize international support for the legitimate government and state institutions. During a virtual meeting with heads of Yemeni diplomatic missions abroad, Al-Zouba emphasized the need to communicate political and media messages to host countries to counter Houthi militia escalations.

In a separate communication with the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Yemen, Neil Hope, Al-Zouba discussed the humanitarian and security implications of Houthi activities. She highlighted threats to international maritime navigation, particularly in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait, and urged a firm, unified international stance against the militia.

Al-Zouba also addressed the humanitarian crisis, citing Houthi actions in Taiz, including blockades and shelling of residential areas, as violations of international humanitarian law. She stressed that any sustainable political settlement must be based on national and international references, ensuring that the state maintains exclusive control over weaponry and decision-making.
