Yemen government airstrikes hit Houthi sites in Marib and Al‑Jawf amid escalating conflict

Yemeni government aircraft carried out airstrikes on Houthi positions in the provinces of Marib and Al‑Jawf, targeting missile‑launch sites, unmanned‑aircraft platforms and weapons depots. Reuters‑cited military officials said the strikes killed several Houthi militants, including specialists who operate ballistic‑missile and KATYUSHA rocket systems.

In retaliation, the Houthi movement announced that it would conduct operations against Saudi Aramco facilities in Jazan and Yanbu, using dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones. The Saudi civil‑defence authority issued multiple alerts for the coastal areas of Yanbu and Jazan, urging residents to seek shelter.

Yemen’s Prime Minister Shuaib al‑Zindani vowed to continue cooperating with the Saudi‑led coalition to counter Houthi threats and protect Red Sea navigation, describing the attacks on commercial shipping as part of an Iranian‑backed campaign that endangers regional and global trade.
