Yemen government meets UN officials to coordinate humanitarian response

The Yemeni government met with representatives from the United Nations and various international organizations in Aden to discuss humanitarian response priorities. Key officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Afrah al-Zouba and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Faqmi, addressed the escalating humanitarian situation and the impact of recent escalations by Houthi militias.

The discussions focused on the urgent needs of displaced populations, with reports indicating that 12,597 displaced families have been recorded across six governorates. These families require immediate assistance regarding shelter, food, safe water, healthcare, and protection services.

Minister al-Zouba highlighted that threats to ports and supply lines are exacerbating food insecurity and increasing the cost of essential goods. She emphasized the government's commitment to protecting civilians and urged international partners to ensure aid reaches those in need without discrimination while seeking political solutions to address the root causes of the crisis.
