Yemen: Houthi attacks target governor and lawyer

Recent violent incidents in Yemen have targeted both government officials and legal professionals. While his family members were unharmed, the attack underscores the ongoing tensions between the Houthi rebels and the Yemeni government.

In the Houthi-controlled Amran governorate, the Yemeni Lawyers Syndicate condemned an attempted assassination of lawyer Bassam Saleh Ahmed Saad Al-Qahali and his family. The syndicate reported that the family was subjected to intense gunfire in broad daylight. The complaint alleges the attack was linked to Al-Qahali’s professional legal activities and cases against certain individuals. The syndicate has demanded the swift apprehension of those involved, describing the incident as a direct threat to the justice system and the rule of law.
