Houthi forces have significantly expanded their control along Yemen's western coast, seizing the strategic port city of Mocha and several islands. The escalation has triggered a severe humanitarian crisis. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reports that approximately 86,000 people have been displaced in Yemen since July, with the number of displaced persons quadrupling following recent hostilities. In Taiz province alone, nearly 50,000 people have fled their homes.

A massive influx of refugees is reaching Djibouti. Within a single 24-hour period, approximately 1,400 Yemenis arrived in Djibouti, many reaching the coastal city of Obock. Some groups, including women and children, were rescued at sea after their boats ran out of fuel while attempting to cross the strait.
