Yemen: Houthi forces seize Al-Mukha and advance toward Bab al-Mandab

Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr, Chairman of the Yemeni Shura Council, has called on officers and soldiers to return to their units and new positions following the loss of Al-Mukha in southwestern Yemen. Bin Daghr stated that the war has not ended and that the current situation represents a beginning rather than a conclusion, urging forces to focus on preparation rather than grief or accountability.

According to Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, Houthi forces have seized control of six districts, including the Al-Mukha district in western Taiz. This advance includes the city of Al-Mukha and its Red Sea port, bringing Houthi forces closer to the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

While Houthi forces have made gains in the southwest, government forces have reported progress in the Al-Jawf province near the Saudi Arabian border, approaching the city of Al-Hazm. Fighting continues across other fronts, including Marib, Al-Bayda, and Al-Dhale.
