Yemen: Houthi forces suffer heavy losses in Taiz and coastal clashes

Intense military clashes in Yemen’s Taiz and Al Hudaydah governorates have resulted in significant losses for Houthi militia forces. Following weeks of missile and drone escalations targeting the Red Sea coast and Bab al-Mandab, ground operations by the National Resistance Forces and the Giants Brigades have reportedly disrupted Houthi attempts to advance toward the western coast.

In the Al Wazi'iyah front, the Giants Brigades, led by Major General Hamdi Shukri, launched a counter-offensive that broke a siege on National Resistance units. This maneuver led to the capture of several Houthi fighters and the destruction of military vehicles.

Field reports also confirm the death of a prominent Houthi commander, Ali Saleh al-Harbi (known as Abu Ali al-Harbi), during clashes in Taiz. Al-Harbi, who previously held security responsibilities in Dhamar, was serving as a brigade commander in the Fourth Military Region. The fighting has also resulted in the capture of a high-ranking Houthi individual involved in military training sectors.
