Yemen Human Rights Ministry condemns Houthi attacks on civilians in Taiz

The Ministry of Human Rights has condemned military escalations by Houthi militias targeting civilians, displaced persons, and educational facilities in the Taiz governorate. The ministry reported that artillery, missile, and drone attacks struck residential areas and displacement camps in the districts of Maqbanah, Jabal Habashi, Al-Kadha, and Al-Dhabab.

Specific incidents cited include the killing of a citizen by a sniper in Maqbanah and the shelling of Karim School in Al-Wazi'iyah during educational activities. Additionally, artillery fire directed at displacement camps in Al-Rahba, Al-Rajhi, and Wadi Al-Hanaya has forced dozens of families to flee their shelters. The ministry stated these actions constitute grave violations of international humanitarian law and may amount to war crimes.
