Yemen launches first Arab ‘Ticket to Life’ scouting program and football coaching courses

Yemen has become the first Arab nation to launch the ‘Ticket to Lifescouting program, a global initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable populations, including displaced persons and marginalized groups. The project, supported by Alwaleed Philanthropies and organized by the Yemeni Scout and Guide Association under the auspices of the World Scout Bureau, officially commenced with a training course for 25 leaders in Aden. The program focuses on providing life skills, responsibility, and community service training to build youth capacity in Aden, Lahj, and Abyan.

In a separate sports development initiative, practical examinations have begun for the first Asian Level (C) football coaching course in Abyan province. Supported by the local governorate and coordinated with the Yemeni Football Association and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the course involves 24 coaches. The training aims to modernize coaching standards in the region, aligning with new AFC licensing requirements to enhance technical and leadership skills among local football instructors.
