Yemen Meteorological Authority issues weather forecasts
The Meteorological Forecasting and Early Warning Center of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology has issued weather updates for various regions in Yemen.
Coastal areas are expected to experience hot daytime temperatures and moderate conditions at night, with a possibility of scattered rainfall over the Socotra Archipelago and western coastal plains. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, though they may become active along the southwestern and western coasts and the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
In the mountain highlands, weather is predicted to be partly cloudy and moderate, with potential thunderstorms in scattered areas of the western slopes and parts of Hadramaut and Shabwah. Desert and plateau regions are expected to remain generally dry and clear to partly cloudy, with hot days and moderate nights. Winds in these areas may be moderate to active, potentially causing sand and dust storms.
The authority has advised citizens in areas prone to thunderstorms to avoid staying outdoors during storms and warned drivers of reduced visibility due to fog in southern and western highlands. Residents in mountainous areas are also advised to take precautions against relatively cold temperatures during the night and early morning.
