Yemen Minister warns of Houthi psychological warfare in Taiz

Yemeni Information Minister Muammar al-Eryani has warned of an intensifying psychological and media warfare campaign conducted by Houthi militias in the Taiz governorate. This campaign is being carried out alongside military escalations to demoralize fighters and create a false impression of collapsing frontlines.

Al-Eryani stated that Houthi propaganda utilizes impersonated accounts of political and military leaders to issue false statements, as well as the reuse of old footage presented as current events. The strategy aims to create a misleading information environment where the repetition of false news across multiple sources is used to manufacture credibility.

Techniques identified include the use of artificial intelligence, digital manipulation, and montage to produce convincing content. This includes videos of individuals posing as military personnel using local dialects to spread demoralizing messages regarding ammunition shortages or lack of leadership support. The Minister urged the public to verify all sensitive field information and avoid sharing unconfirmed reports regarding territorial changes.
