Yemen National Defense Council orders maximum military readiness

The Yemen National Defense Council, chaired by President Rashad al-Alimi, has ordered maximum military readiness and the expansion of air and missile deterrence operations against Houthi militia threats. The decision was made during a meeting in Riyadh to address ongoing attacks by the Houthi militia, which the council described as targeting sovereign facilities, civilian infrastructure, and displaced persons camps using ballistic missiles and drones.

The council praised the performance of the armed forces, specifically highlighting the precision of drone operations against Houthi military sites. In addition to expanding deterrence, the council directed the intensification of intelligence work to track smuggling networks and internal support for the militia.

Furthermore, the council called on tribal leaders to protect their youth from Houthi recruitment efforts and instructed local authorities to assess and repair damage caused by recent attacks while providing medical care to the wounded and support to the families of those killed.
