Yemen officials and UN agencies coordinate humanitarian response in Aden
In Aden, Yemeni officials and United Nations representatives are coordinating efforts to address the escalating humanitarian crisis caused by military escalations and internal displacement.
The Moun Human Rights Organization held a workshop and photographic exhibition to highlight the recruitment and use of children in armed conflicts. Officials emphasized that child recruitment is a grave violation of international law that requires long-term psychological and social rehabilitation.
Simultaneously, several Yemeni ministers met with UN agencies to enhance emergency responses. The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor discussed coordination with OCHA to manage displacement waves, while the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation met with the UNHCR to secure aid for shelter and basic services. The UNHCR reported that $2 million has been earmarked for urgent situations in Yemen. Additionally, the Minister of State for Displacement and Migration met with the UNFPA to discuss providing essential supplies and cash assistance to displaced populations, particularly in areas where security risks limit aid access.
