Yemen: Air strikes and clashes kill over 30 Houthi fighters in Taiz
More than 30 Houthi militia members were killed and over 70 others injured during military operations in the Al-Masrakh district of Taiz governorate, Yemen.
Reports indicate that air strikes targeted Houthi gatherings in the mountainous areas of the district. Among the deceased were seven police department directors who had reportedly been transferred from Sanaa to the Taiz fronts to compensate for personnel shortages caused by ongoing combat losses.
In addition to the air strikes, intense ground clashes occurred in the Al-Aqroud front near Ras al-Naqil. Local sources report that Houthi forces attempted to advance toward strategic positions overlooking the main road connecting the Al-Masrakh and Khadir districts.
Civilians in the area have reportedly been affected by mortar shelling and sniper fire. Local activists alleged that Houthi forces used projectiles containing chemical substances and that a ten-year-old child was wounded by sniper fire during the recent escalations.
