Prime Minister Dr Shuaib Mohsen al‑Zindani chaired a government meeting in the temporary capital Aden on 26 July 2026. Ministers reviewed the latest economic, humanitarian and service conditions and evaluated the impact of Houthi militia attacks on commercial vessels that threaten navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab el‑Mandeb strait.

The cabinet pledged to keep markets stable, ensure the flow of imports and maintain strategic stockpiles of food, fuel and other essential goods. It thanked Saudi Arabia for its economic support and confirmed continued coordination with the Saudi‑led coalition and international partners to protect maritime security, restore state institutions and uphold Yemen’s sovereignty. The ministers also cited Houthi threats to block shipping linked to Saudi Arabia and described the attacks as part of an Iranian agenda to destabilise the region. The Saudi‑led coalition has carried out proportional strikes on Houthi targets in Al‑Hudayda province, and Houthi forces have launched missiles and UAVs at the Saudi cities of Yanbu and Jizan, targeting Aramco facilities.
