Yemen weather forecast predicts heavy thunderstorms and heat

Meteorological authorities and weather experts have issued forecasts for varied weather conditions across Yemen. The Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority predicts hot and humid weather in coastal and near-coastal areas, with scattered rain expected over parts of the Socotra Archipelago and eastern and western coastal regions.

In the mountainous highlands, partly cloudy skies and moderate temperatures are expected, with the possibility of heavy thunderstorms and hail in various areas, including parts of Lahj and the western and southwestern slopes. Desert and plateau regions are expected to be dry and sunny to partly cloudy, with high daytime temperatures and moderate nights. Some areas in Mahra and Hadramout may experience scattered rain and fog.

Weather expert Jamil Al-Haj also anticipates continued rainfall across various parts of the country over the next three days. He warns of potential thunderstorms and strong winds accompanying the rain, particularly in Taiz, northwest Lahj, parts of Ibb, Raymah, and the highlands of Hodeidah, Sana'a, Amran, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Saada, and Dhamar. Heavy rainfall may also affect Al-Dhale and parts of Yafa.

Authorities have advised citizens in coastal and desert areas to avoid direct sunlight during midday due to high heat and humidity, and have urged those in areas prone to rain to avoid valleys and flood paths during thunderstorms.
