Yemen weather forecast predicts widespread heavy rain and strong winds

Yemen is expected to experience a week of widespread heavy rainfall, potentially accompanied by hail and strong downdrafts, according to astronomical forecasts. Yemeni astronomer Adnan Al-Shawafi predicts that the rainy weather pattern will expand starting Sunday and continue through the following Friday, with cumulative precipitation levels likely exceeding those of the previous week.

High-probability rainfall areas (40% to 70%) include Ibb, Raymah, Al-Dhale, Dhamar, Al-Mahwit, Al-Bayda, Taiz, and northern parts of Lahj and Abyan. Moderate rainfall (30% to 60%) is expected in Sana'a, Amran, Hajjah, Al-Hudaydah, western Saada, western Al-Jawf, western Marib, and the highlands of Shabwah, Hadramaut, and Al-Mahra.

While much of the country faces rain, coastal and inland desert regions are expected to remain hot or extremely hot. Additionally, strong winds are forecasted for the Socotra archipelago throughout the week, with high wind gusts expected along the eastern coasts and relative activity along the southern coasts.
