Yemen weather service forecasts scattered thunderstorms and strong winds across multiple provinces

The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning in Yemen issued a forecast for the next 24 hours expecting thunderstorms, occasional hail and fog in highland areas. Scattered rain with varying intensity is predicted for eleven provinces, including Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Al‑Mahwit, Hajjah, Al‑Jawf, Lahj, Abyan, western Sana’a and Saada.

Coastal regions will see partly cloudy, hot and humid conditions with possible isolated thunderstorm showers on the Tihama plain, the coasts of Mahra, Hadhramaut and southern Bab al‑Mandab. Strong to active winds of 24–40 knots are expected around the Socotra archipelago and the eastern Gulf of Aden, raising sea state and posing hazards for fishermen and vessels. Desert areas will experience clear, hot to very hot weather with maximum temperatures ranging from 38 °C to 45 °C, accompanied by dust‑raising winds.

Authorities warned residents in rain‑affected zones to avoid wadi passages due to flash‑flood risk and advised the public to stay hydrated and limit exposure to intense sun. Mariners were cautioned about rough seas and high waves near Socotra and the Gulf of Aden.
