Yemen military conducts 181 operations against Houthi sites amid maritime escalation

The Yemeni conflict has seen a significant escalation in both land and sea operations. The Yemeni Armed Forces reported conducting 181 military operations against Houthi militia positions over a 24-hour period. These strikes, which utilized drones, artillery, and rocket launchers, targeted military sites, weapons depots, and threat sources across multiple provinces, including Taiz, Marib, Abyan, and Hodeidah. Officials stated the operations resulted in dozens of Houthi casualties and the destruction of various military vehicles and equipment.

Simultaneously, Houthi rebels launched several ballistic missile attacks. One series of strikes targeted residential areas in Marib, while others were directed toward the Bab al-Mandab strait and the coastal area of Al-Mukha. Houthi spokespersons claimed responsibility for an attack in the Red Sea that targeted a Saudi military landing ship and four escort vessels, alleging the strike caused fires and sinkings. The escalation continues to threaten maritime security and international shipping routes in the region.
