Yemen Government Forces launch Operation Dawn of Yemen against Houthis

Yemeni government forces have intensified military operations against Houthi militia positions under the “Operation Dawn of Yemen” campaign. According to military spokesperson Colonel Majed al-Nuzaily, the offensive involved hundreds of precision strikes across multiple fronts, including Al-Jawf, western Ma'rib, Al-Bayda, and the southern and western theaters.

Reports on the scale of the operations vary. Some military statements claim between 780 and 1,392 targeting operations were conducted within a 24-hour period. These strikes reportedly resulted in the neutralization of Houthi members ranging from approximately 285 to 620 individuals, including field commanders. Additionally, government forces reported destroying or disabling between 190 and 330 military vehicles, drones, and heavy weaponry.

In Taiz province, intense fighting has been reported in the strategic highlands of Jabal Han and the Dhubab and al-Masrakh districts. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned that nearly 260,000 people have been displaced since August, with approximately half seeking refuge in Taiz due to the concentrated fighting.
