Yemeni Army regains territory in Taiz and strikes Houthi positions in Marib
The Yemeni military has reported significant territorial gains and military strikes amid escalating conflict with Houthi forces. In Taiz governorate, government troops reclaimed control of the Mahyoub Thabit and Wathib hills in the Al-Aqroud region, as well as the Al-Furqan school in Al-Dhunayb village. These positions overlook several villages in the Al-Misrakh district.
In Marib, the Yemeni armed forces conducted targeted strikes against Houthi positions and vehicles in the southern and southwestern fronts, resulting in reported damage to combat equipment and casualties. Meanwhile, fighting has intensified in the Al-Hajariya region of Taiz, a strategic area connecting the city to Lahj and Aden, raising concerns over supply lines and civilian displacement.
In response to the ongoing hostilities, President Rashad al-Alimi has pledged to continue the ‘Dawn of Yemen’ operation aimed at reclaiming state institutions and Sanaa. On the other side, Houthi-affiliated media reported airstrikes in Saada and Sanaa, alleging they were conducted by Saudi forces. The conflict continues to impact civilians, with reports of injuries to children and women due to shelling in Taiz.
