Yemeni Army targets Houthi command center and tanks in Taiz

The Yemeni Army announced on Friday that it destroyed two tanks and neutralized a Houthi command and control center located in the abandoned Sofitel Hotel in the city of Taiz. Military spokesperson Majed al-Nazili stated that the operation aimed to protect civilians, alleging that Houthi forces used the building as a launch point to target unarmed residents.

The military operations are part of a series of counter-attacks intended to disrupt Houthi reinforcements, trenches, and supply lines. These efforts have reportedly achieved progress on the Al-Aqroud front and aimed to prevent the group from regrouping or reclaiming lost positions.

These developments occur amid intensified fighting in Taiz province. While government forces maintain control over the city center, Houthi forces have made recent gains in several rural and coastal areas. The conflict has led to a worsening humanitarian crisis, with reports of dozens of civilian casualties due to shelling and increased isolation caused by the closure of main supply routes.
