Yemeni forces capture Al-Yatama region in Al-Jawf

Yemeni government forces announced the capture of the Al-Yatama area in the Khab wa ash Sha'af district of Al-Jawf governorate following a military operation against Houthi militias. The area holds strategic importance due to its proximity to the Saudi border and its connection to the oil-rich Marib governorate.

Following the initial advance, military officials clarified that government troops conducted a rapid withdrawal and repositioning from the Al-Yatama market area. This move was described as a tactical decision to avoid a Houthi ambush designed to draw in larger numbers of troops. While the government reported progress, observers noted that control over the region remains fluid and not yet definitively established.

Houthi representatives claimed the area remains under their influence and asserted that government forces faced ambushes in the desert. Additionally, Houthi officials claimed to have captured new Saudi prisoners during recent clashes on the outskirts of Al-Jawf.
