Yemeni forces claim control of six districts on western coast
Yemeni forces, led by the Houthi movement, have reported a major military advancement along the country’s western coast. According to the Yemeni Armed Forces, a large-scale operation titled “Allah Is Stronger in Might and Stronger in Inflicting Punishment” resulted in the expulsion of Saudi-backed military deployments from six districts across the Taiz and Hodeidah provinces.
The operation reportedly covered approximately 5,400 square kilometers. Military spokesmen claimed the offensive targeted 38 brigades and resulted in significant casualties among opposing forces. Additionally, Houthi officials stated they successfully liberated all detainees held in prisons located within the western coastal region.
Strategic developments include Houthi fighters entering the districts of Hays and Al Khokha, south of Hodeidah, and advances toward the city of Mocha in Taiz province. This region is considered highly significant due to its proximity to the Bab al-Mandab Strait. While Houthi forces claim control over these areas, there has been no official confirmation from the internationally recognized Yemeni government regarding the seizure of these strategic locations.
