Yemeni forces intercept Iranian military shipment in Red Sea

The Yemeni National Resistance Forces intercepted a vessel in the Red Sea on August 24, seizing a shipment of military electronics and equipment allegedly destined for the Houthi militia. The operation followed intelligence-led surveillance of a smuggling network linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The seized cargo included guidance and control systems, live image processing equipment, flight system components, wireless communication hardware, antennas, and parts for drone fuel systems. These components are reportedly intended for the manufacturing and modernization of offensive unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).

During the operation, resistance forces reported being subjected to missile fire along the western coast, though they stated the attack did not prevent the seizure. The crew members were detained and have reportedly provided intelligence regarding smuggling routes and coordination with the IRGC. Further evidence, including video confessions, is expected to be released.
