Yemen's Al‑Alimi warns Houthis against escalations harming Yemeni people

Rashad Al‑Alimi, head of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, used X to issue a stark warning to the Ansar Allah (Houthis), telling them to cease further escalation and "مقامرة بمصالح الشعب اليمني" that serves Iran's agenda. He said the Yemeni government remains committed to close cooperation with the legitimacy‑supporting coalition and international partners to deter threats, protect maritime corridors, combat terrorism, smuggling and organized crime, and uphold national and regional security.

Al‑Alimi stressed that continued fighting only wastes the country's dwindling resources and does not alter Yemenis' resolve to restore state authority over the whole territory. His statement followed a recent incident in which the Saudi vessel "Masa" was lightly damaged in the Red Sea, with no crew injuries, and comes amid renewed Houthis' threats against Saudi infrastructure and the coalition's promise to safeguard shipping in the Bab al‑Mandab Strait.
