During a meeting in Riyadh with Nies Poulsen, the Secretary General of the German Ministry of Defense, Alimi emphasized that any sustainable de-escalation in Yemen requires the restoration of state institutions and their exclusive authority over decisions regarding peace and war.

Alimi highlighted that the recent Houthi escalations against cities, ports, and civilian facilities—including attacks in Mocha and Marib—are attempts to test the state's resolve and revive a policy of extortion. He stated that the Yemeni armed forces remain highly prepared and will continue to target Houthi command and control centers across various fronts.

Furthermore, the President urged the international community to intensify efforts to track arms smuggling networks and military technology transfers to Houthi militias. He also stressed that long-term security for the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab, and Yemeni sovereign ports cannot be achieved through international naval presence alone, but requires a strong Yemeni state capable of exercising authority over its own coasts and territorial waters.
